Kinder 3 Course Layout

Introduction:

In Kinder 3, students are introduced to the fundamental concepts of technology through engaging, hands-on activities that build familiarity with computers and digital tools. This stage focuses on making students comfortable with the basic functions of a computer and developing their fine motor skills needed for interacting with technology. The goal is to provide a foundation that will support their future learning in computer science.


Focus Areas:

  • Recognizing and naming computer components like the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Learning to operate a computer through simple, guided activities that involve using the mouse and keyboard.

Activities:

  • Guided tours of the computer and its parts.
  • Simple games that require basic mouse movements and clicks.
  • Digital storytelling and drawing using kid-friendly software.

Learning Targets:

  • Identify and name basic computer components (monitor, keyboard, mouse).
  • Perform basic computer operations (turning on/off, using the mouse).
  • Develop familiarity with simple software interfaces.
